New Holiday Tradition?

Illumination, just east of the I-17 in North Phoenix, plans to light the sky this holiday season...fulfilling a decade-long dream for Simon Kreisberger.  Illumination's main event will be a mile-long drive (about 20 minute drive) through a display of lights synced with music tuned in on car stereos.

The construction of this 14 acre project began a month ago.  It is slated to open November 15 and run daily through January 14th.  Kreisberger's elves are creating an entire destination from scratch that will celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah and other religious holidays.

Adjacent to the light show, along Holiday Boulevard, guests will find food vendors and themed areas, to include:

  • Troop's Tribute section with toy soldiers

  • Post Office for sending letters to troops

  • Santa's Village

  • Area celebrating diversity and coexistence

  • Celebrate Arizona section with horses, horseshoes and cacti

  • Selfie section with walk-through ornament and giant snowman

  • Winter Jumpland filled with inflatables for kids

Kreisberger is working with Phoenix Children's Hospital to market the project, and a percent of proceeds will go back to the hospital.  He is also working on bringing kids from the hospital, who might otherwise not be able to experience the show, up to see it. He plans to make the  show bigger next year and if possible open a second location elsewhere in the Valley.
